Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines Heather Patch카테고리 없음 2020. 3. 2. 21:29
Highest Rated (13 agree)Honestly, there isn't much that can be said that can give this impressive amount of hard work enough credit. The dedication put in by all of the people working on this patch is incredible, and I truly appreciate all that is done with every single update. Wesp5 and the VTMB unofficial patch crew, thank you. Honestly, the only reason I continue to play this game is to see just what you folks put in or restore next.
I have never been disappointed. Keep up the good work! To give more of an explanationFeb 8 2013 by LordHemlock.
BLOODLINES, DUDE. So I've heard a lot of praise for this game during my time on GAF, and for some reason I didn't bother playing it until recently. I love choice and consequence heavy RPG's, and it's been compared favorably to the GOTF, Deus Ex, but for some reason I held off until now.
Maybe it was the mouthful of a title or the fact that it's never on sale Steam. I mean, who wants to pay TWENTY US DOLLARS for some crusty old PC game? However, after finishing, I was fiending for another C&C RPG so I took the plunge.REQUIRED LISTENING: &I went with the classiest clan, the Ventrue, who occupy the upper crust of vampire society. I must say, my vamp lady, Marissa, was one cool broad. Looks undeniably badass while wearing a leather trenchcoat and wielding a desert eagle- uses the power of Dominate disciple to choke enemies from afar (Suicide) and turn the chumps against each other (Possession)- thanks to her maxed Appearance and high Persuation skills, she can use the power of blue balls to get what she wants- so high class that she vomits up the blood of low-borns like hobos and hookersI've started a second playthrough as a Malkavian, and it's pretty amazing so far.
Every single one of the conversation options have been rewritten in an abstract and sometimes amusing way and the trippy stuff like the whispers has been bugging me out. I also enjoy the NPC's sometimes befuddled response to my strange way of speaking. It's remarkable that two playthroughs can be so different. Those who have played Bloodlines will likely agree that it has some damn good CHARACTERS. They range from slutty, to schizophrenic, to revolving, to pitiful and despicable. Troika managed to create well defined characters that evoke a variety responses instead of the soulless automatons that fall of an assembly line into most RPG universes.BROS. AndreiSabbat scum. Fuck his stupid green face. One of the HIGHLIGHTS of Bloodlines is the wide variety of locations you'll visit.
Each of the four hubs have several establishments (porn shops, strip clubs, grocery stores, etc) you can visit, each with a unique name and interior, quirky NPC's and a shit ton of details like talk radio stations, computer logs, and news reports. It was exciting to unlock a new hub and explore every building for the first time. The variety of missions was also impressive, you visit all kinds of fascinating and twisted locations like the studio of a snuff porn producer and a mansion haunted by a murdered family. It rarely if ever felt predictable or routine.
Of course, there is one DOWNSIDE to Bloodlines: the combat kinda sucks. At best, it's somewhat amusing when you're sneaking around and sucking unexpecting grunts to death, at worst it's poorly balanced, clunky and very aggravating.
Gunplay is stat based so you'll be struggling with an unreliable reticle and missing enemies at point blank. Melee is a more satisfying alternative, but wielding a katana or sledgehammer will make the game much more difficult in it's rough patches. The absolute worst part of Bloodlines is unfortunately it's final several hours.
The last two missions have you marching down seemingly endless corridors as hoards of enemies swarm you again and again. It was particular frustrating at. The Prince's tower where I had to face fully armored enemies without any means of restoring my blood or health.
Don't get me wrong, I love a good challenge, but it was difficult only because it was haphazardly designed and seemingly rushed. It was frustrating enough to have me yelling at my screen like a goddamn idiot. Bloodlines ended on a sour note, but I was willing to forgive it's mistakes since the content outside of it's combat was god-tier.IN SUMMARY, if you have even the slightest interest in RPGS, but haven't played this game, you are an asshole. It's dark, depraved and disturbing in all the right ways. Impatient gamers may be discouraged by it's rough patches, but those with an appreciation for the finer things in life will most likely agree, that it is a great fucking RPG.Thoughts?
How were your experiences with the other builds? Who were your favorite and least favorite characters? The highs of this game are pretty amazing, but the lows are pretty amazingly bad. The hotel level is probably one of the most brilliant levels I've ever played in an RPG.And then some of the latter combat levels are some of the worst level designs I've ever seen in an RPG. The way they placed obstacles made me think they were completley ignorant to the janky movement/combat present in the game, because the obstacles exacerbated the jank and made it even more annoying.Still a great game though. OP definitely needs more Jack. A LOT more Jack. And now I know what the hell 'LTTP' means!
Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines Heather Patch 2
(That was bugging the crap out of me)And on the topic of Bloodlines, I didn't feel I'd enjoy it, so I didn't really look into it (Also, learned fairly late about the game). I DO like Source Engine, and seeing what an officially licensed developer can do with it (That isn't Valve) all the way back in 2004-05 is rather interesting.
Didn't know it was known for any kind of praise, or well regarded by GAF. Might look into it during a sale, or when I have a few extra bucks. Picked this up at the beginning of the month at the start of my play games that people like binge (just finished the binge with the end of Mask of the Betrayer). While it is certainly a great game, it didn't live up to the expectations that I had for it. The writing was great; each of the characters was distinct; Anarchs were my bros; the haunted hotel was creepy as fuck. The combat was definitely a negative though. My Gangrel vamp was a stealthy unarmed character and while I was able to stealth through most levels silent killing anyone I saw, the enemies would hear me as I got close. They'd blurt out 'who's there', 'what was that' as I waited, less than a foot behind them, for them to go back to their unalarmed state when I would instantly assassinate them.
It meant that I never needed to use my blood powers, which was a good thing since only one of them was useful. In the last two missions I just put all the points I could into firearms to aid in the desert eagle spamming of bosses. The best part of the game for me was that my vampire was never at the top. Sure he was powerful compared to the bum that he feasted on while downtown, but compared to the other vampires that were 100s of years old I was insignificant; a tool to be used.Oh also the boss fight with Ming Xiao was wierd. Demons are wierd. Took me ages to realise that was Bender/Marcus Fenix. I knew I recognised that voice from somewhere.I just payed this game for the first time a few months ago from Steam and loved almost every bit of it. It completely nails the atmosphere and the soundtrack fits perfectly.
I played as a Brujah the first time and I think I'll have another playthough soon. Probably one of the best action RPGs I've ever played and the dialogue is fantastic, particularly the whole Jeanette & Therese part. The only downside like the OP said was. To be fair, all of these could be applied to a single character. Well, a single body, at least.Anyway, public announcement time:1) Arcanum doesn't get nearly enough love. With Drog's patches it's the closest representation of pen & paper RPGs ever created. You can role-play as anyone and do anything.
No other game gives you this kind of freedom except maybe Dwarf Fortress.2) New converts should look into Dead State (I assume old dogs already know of it). It's an upcoming RPG by the lead writer of Bloodlines and his no less talented wife, combining meaty character work and social (single-player) role-playing with tactical gameplay of the X-Com series.
